Welcome to the Business Women's Network of Howard County!

Join us for our July lunch meeting where, by popular demand, the Masterminds format returns!

BWN Lunch

Think of a Masterminds group as a peer advisory board or informal board of directors. Each group creates their agenda organically, and each person gives feedback and brainstorms ideas. Together, you'll set goals and keep each other accountable. The insights you gain from these interactions can improve all aspects of your professional and personal life. You'll find it takes your networking to a whole new level. Our members have loved past Masterminds meetings, so we'll be bringing it back a few more times in the coming year.

As always, don’t forget to bring plenty of business cards and your best elevator speech for some great networking - and  introduce a friend to BWN ... bring a guest at your member rate!

One of the unique features of BWN is that we are ACTIVE supporters of our Howard County community. Not only do our members support each other as women in the business world, but we also harness the collective power of our membership to support the vital service work of various local organizations.

This month help us support The Howard County Food Bank, which provides food to Howard County residents in need.

The Community Action Council (CAC) sponsors fourteen (14) emergency food pantries that support families in need of emergency food assistance. As a healthy food bank, they are committed to alleviating the effects of hunger by providing adequate and nutritious food items to families. The food bank is located in Columbia, MD.

During our meeting, we will be collecting the following (most needed) items:

Baby Food
Pasta
Pasta Sauce
Peanut Butter
Tuna
Hot & Cold Cereal

For more information: www.cac-hc.org

Suggestion: stage a mini-donation drive at your business to collect additional items this month! Encourage your co-workers to clean out their pantries and help their community.

Please bring your donation items to the July 19th meeting. Thank you!

BWN began in 1979 as 'The Women's Network' with the goal of providing an informal networking setting for women. In 1992, the group refocused to provide a more formal networking organization and incorporated in November of that year.

A volunteer board of directors runs BWN, which has nearly 200 members representing large and small businesses, non-profits, government and private organizations. Although most members live or work in Howard County, individuals from all over the Baltimore/ Washington Corridor area attend monthly meetings.
