HCC Food Pantry

This month, help us support the HCC Food Pantry; a program that helps combat food insecurity for students at Howard Community College. All currently enrolled students must bring a student ID or a picture ID and a copy of their schedule to receive items once a week. Students who bring their own reusable bag can receive one extra item per week. The food pantry is located on campus in Columbia, MD.

One of the unique features of our organization is that we are ACTIVE supporters of our Howard County community. Not only do our members support each other as women in the business world, but we also harness the collective power of our membership to support the vital service work of various local organizations.
During our meeting, we will be collecting the following (most needed) items:
  • Canned food (soup, meat, beans etc)
  • Dry goods (cereal, pasta, baking mixes, granola etc)
  • Beverages (bottled water, juice boxes, coffee etc)

BWN began in 1979 as 'The Women's Network' with the goal of providing an informal networking setting for women. In 1992, the group refocused to provide a more formal networking organization and incorporated in November of that year.

A volunteer board of directors runs BWN, which has nearly 200 members representing large and small businesses, non-profits, government and private organizations. Although most members live or work in Howard County, individuals from all over the Baltimore/ Washington Corridor area attend monthly meetings.
