Sponsor a Full Scholarship

Linda Cromwell Testimony

Every year I very much look forward to participating in the BWN's scholarship program. It's not only an opportunity to give a deserving woman a hand up but, by presenting a scholarship in the name of Rose Tiller, it's also a way to honor my mother.

Rose, who passed away in 2017, was my greatest role model. She taught me compassion and perseverance, and she gave me the confidence to believe in myself and to pursue lofty goals. That's what the BWN scholarship is all about.

Like the recipients of our scholarships, my Mom faced many challenges in her life. Among them was supporting four children after the death of our father at a young age, including a son with intellectual disability and cerebral palsy. She worked hard to do so without complaint. Every day she demonstrated an independence of thought and action that benefits me to this day. Despite the heavy burdens she faced at home and at work, she always found time to reach out to others. Her generosity was her finest attribute.

This is the fourth year I've had the privilege of presenting a BWN scholarship in Rose Tiller's name. Even though she'd be too humble to accept such recognition, it's recognition well earned, just like the recognition earned by every BWN scholarship honoree.
