As part of the BWN mission to support women, the BWN Lifelong Learner Scholarship Fund was established in 2000. Over $80,000 has been awarded in Scholarships. The women who have been awarded Scholarships run the gamut from established career women who need additional education to reach the next level in their profession to women who want to pursue a complete career change. Others have been out of the work force for several years raising children or caring for elderly parents and need to brush up on old skills or learn new ones to enter the job market successfully. Each woman who has received a Scholarship has already demonstrated leadership and commitment in her personal and/or business communities as she plans to pursue post-secondary education at an accredited educational institution.

The goal is to have a greater impact in assisting women with scholarships needed to pursue degree programs as well as technical, certificate or training programs instrumental for success in business and as leaders in the community.

Winter Growth's founder dreamed of creating a community where seniors and adults with disabilities could continue to learn and grow - where their lives would be filled with joy and purpose. With over 40 years of experience, Winter Growth has fulfilled that dream - offering Adult Medical Day, Memory Care, Assisted Living, and Respite Programs that embrace and celebrate all that individuals are, and all they have the potential to be.

How BWN can help: Gas or grocery store gift cards are most helpful for cancer patients who are in daily radiation treatments for 6-8 weeks.

    Zaching Against Cancer Foundation

ZACF is affiliated with 21 hospitals providing direct patient services including prescription co-payments, medical bills, utility bills, rent payments and much more! During Zach's treatment's what stood out to him was seeing the same kids that he was in the Chemo Infusion Center with having to stand at the cold bus stop while he was getting in his parents warm car. Seeing people who struggled financially was one of the reasons Zach wanted to provide funds to help cancer patients with the little things that we often take for granted.

What we can do: When our cancer patients are in daily radiation for 6-8 weeks, gas or grocery store gift cards are most helpful.

TasteWise Kids is a non-profit organization that teaches food literacy skills and empowers kids to make informed, healthy food choices. We run three hands-on programs – Days of Taste, TasteWise Kids at Home, and Community Programs like Chef Story Time. We make these journeys of discovery exciting, we keep it simple, and we follow three fundamental principles to make it happen: use your hands, learn from food professionals, and have fun.

May is National Salad month which we celebrate at TasteWise Kids. We have fun content all month long for kids and adults to get creative in the kitchen with salads and greens- a farmers market scavenger hunt, recipes, a local Chef Story Time, and more. Throughout the month, we also fundraise to provide a Take Home salad kit to each of our Days of Taste students. This kit includes the ingredients to make a green salad and vinaigrette plus activities and resources for the whole family. We need your help to successfully increase the number of families this year. We are asking for a $25 donation.
