TAKE CHARGE – LIVING YOUR BEST LIFE

A PROACTIVE APPROACH TO WELLNESS

Presented by members of the Health and Wellness Cohort, this lunch will present ways to take a proactive approach to your personal wellness and celebrate Spring by living your best life. This will be a lively and interactive session with time for questions and answers.

Jenn Gruber, ACC, CPC, is a life coach specializing in transitions and family relationships. Jenn loves helping overwhelmed women, who wish they had more time and energy to enjoy their lives and the people they love, to gain clarity on what they really want and need. She partners with them to create and implement realistic, achievable action plans, incorporating her expertise in communicating effectively and establishing healthy boundaries. Through her practice, Jenn Gruber Coaching, she enjoys providing one-on-one and group coaching, leading workshops and support groups, and facilitating conversations around sensitive topics. If you’d like to talk with Jenn about how she might be able to support you, please reach out – she’d love to chat!

Linda Penkala's laser passion is to empower, educate and encourage healthier choices in life for women!. She accomplishes this through massage therapy, aromatherapy, guided meditation, self-massage classes, presentations, and published wellness articles. Her recently published book, The Pause to Relax Ladies for Robust Heart Health, weaves both careers of being a jockey, and massage therapist through the lens of paying attention to wise lifestyle choices. With the meteoric rise in stress levels and the need for holistic solutions due to the pandemic, it becomes clear to see the value of this guidebook, as chronic stress impacts heart health. Linda’s greatest joy, along with loving her six Grandkids, is helping others connect the dots for robust health and wellness. Her updated new website reveals all of her services. Check out her website.

Ellen Perticone is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and the owner/founder of Senior Placement Navigators. Ellen operates in the role of an advocate and navigator with seniors and their families regarding senior living transitions to Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and/or a short-term Respite stay. After several years in various positions in the senior living field, Ellen realized that she could best help families and make the most impact as a navigator and an advocate. Understanding the processes of the senior health care field including hospital discharges, rehabilitation facilities, Medicare, Medicaid, and so much more, enables her to generate cohesive strategies for families facing the transition process. Key areas of focus incorporate finances, health and health history, location/s, and timing. Ellen brings this together to meet the family/senior's needs with patience, perseverance, practicality, empathy, and good humor. Ellen is also an Outreach Educator with the Alzheimer's Association. The goal is always to meet the best interest of the senior.

NONPROFIT OF THE MONTH:

TasteWise Kids is a non-profit organization that teaches food literacy skills and empowers kids to make informed, healthy food choices. We run three hands-on programs – Days of Taste, TasteWise Kids at Home, and Community Programs like Chef Story Time. We make these journeys of discovery exciting, we keep it simple, and we follow three fundamental principles to make it happen: use your hands, learn from food professionals, and have fun.

May is National Salad month which we celebrate at TasteWise Kids. We have fun content all month long for kids and adults to get creative in the kitchen with salads and greens- a farmers market scavenger hunt, recipes, a local Chef Story Time, and more. Throughout the month, we also fundraise to provide a Take Home salad kit to each of our Days of Taste students. This kit includes the ingredients to make a green salad and vinaigrette plus activities and resources for the whole family. We need your help to successfully increase the number of families this year. We are asking for a $25 donation.
