Hear from our very own BWN experts on their top tips in growing your business. Building a team around you is the foundation of what you need to propel your business forward and to get it right the first time. Our panel will focus on the areas of business law, accounting, and insurance needs. We will hear from each of them on their top tips around these areas but will also have time for open Q&A so come prepared with questions!

Heather K. Yeung, Esq. - Heather Yeung is an attorney with the Business & Technology Law Group in Columbia, Maryland. She and her firm offer legal services to small-to-medium sized local businesses with everything from start-up and formation to payment disputes, employment and HR assistance, and corporate matters.

Nancy Buckley, CPA - Nancy Buckley is a partner at Hertzbach & Company. She has over 20 years of experience providing tax preparation and management advisory services to small to mid-sized businesses in Maryland. She earned her B.S from the University of Maryland at College Park and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1995. In addition she is a MACPA 2017 Women to Watch Experienced Leader Nominee.

Lisa Jolles, President, Jolles Insurance - For more than 30 years Lisa Jolles, her husband Brian and a five-person support staff, strive to “Set the Standard for Service” for the individuals and companies they serve.   Jolles Insurance is an independent  insurance agency specializing in  life, health, disability, long term care and financial services for both individuals and companies.

JANUARY CHARITY

One of the unique features of BWN is that we are ACTIVE supporters of our Howard County community. Not only do our members support each other as women in the business world, but we also harness the collective power of our membership to support the vital service work of various local organizations -- every month.

This month, help us support Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center. 

During our January meeting, we will be collecting

• BODY Wash
• BODY Lotion

UPDATED SNOW POLICY
Business Women’s Network of Howard County thanks you for understanding the complexities of hosting events of the magnitude to which we have grown. This also applies to inclement weather. Here are a few points you should know:

1. Venues that are large enough to accommodate our group have different snow policies than smaller venues. As such, we will no longer be able to follow Howard County Public School System’s delays and closures.
2. BWN will endeavor to have our event regardless of the weather.
3. In the event that Turf Valley Resort cancels our luncheon, we will notify you by email, social media, and on the BWN-hoco.com website, as soon as we receive notice of cancellation.
4. Safety first. Please use your best judgment to determine if the roads are safe for you to travel. When in doubt, sit it out.
5. As with all of our luncheons, the event will not be rescheduled and there will be no refunds. (In the very unlikely event the lunch is cancelled, the funds already collected will be donated to the BWN Scholarship Foundation.)
