Monique Washington-Jones is the owner and head instructor of WKD Karate for Girls; a female-only martial arts academy located in Maryland. She is a certified karate instructor with over 30 years of experience and holds the rank of Sixth Degree Black Belt in Japanese and Korean martial arts.

Annually, she empowers hundreds of females through karate classes, after school programs, summer camps, self defense workshops and a mentoring program for girls. She has been recognized both nationally and internationally for inspiring females. She is often asked to speak to women and girls that want to live confidently, as it is her mission to encourage others to be a better version of themselves. And most recently, she works with female entrepreneurs, sharing her lessons for success.

Monique has a Bachelor of Science in Communication and attended graduate school for business. She is a Leadership Howard County Alumni and passionate about volunteering and giving back to her community.
